SUPERVISION

Supervision is a key component of any safe, ethical and creative therapy practice where the focus is on improving outcomes for clients.

My own experience of excellent supervision over the years has undoubtedly allowed me to progress my own practice to the place where it now sits and informs the way that I work with others in a supervisory role. I am currently Joint Head of Supervision for the Human Givens Institute (whose register of therapists is accredited by the PSA) and a member of the Clinical Guidance Group.

I offer supervision to practitioners from many different modalities and also to other key pastoral staff within organisations, including:

  • Human Givens therapists
  • Human Givens trainee therapists (taking on the role of tutor/supervisor)
  • Practitioners from other modalities
  • Mental health and wellbeing coordinators and practitioners, or those with pastoral support roles
  • Specialist supervision for practitioners working with trauma, complex trauma and moral injury (including military trauma)
  • Specialist supervision relating to use of the rewind technique

The approach that I take when supervising is non-hierarchical and for many of the more experienced practitioners that I work with, supervisory sessions become a fascinating exchange of ideas and thinking that allow them to bring added clarity and creativity to their work. At times when more challenging situations arise, we will spend as much time as needed exploring difficult ethical issues in order that they can determine the best way forward both for the clients they are working with, and for themselves as a practitioner. When working with students, I take on the role of supervisor-tutor, and we work collaboratively to ensure that they have the guidance and foundation of understanding that they need in order to begin to build a successful career and practice within this field of work.

FEE STRUCTURE

My fee structure for supervision is kept as simple as possible:

1 hr supervision – fully qualified practitioner / staff member:  £95.00

1 hr supervision – trainee practitioner: £85.00

I am able to offer flexible timings, allowing you to either schedule in a regular session or individual sessions as needed in relation to your client work, and shorter or longer  sessions can be arranged by prior agreement with costs on a pro-rata basis. I am happy to see individuals for one-off specialist supervision, a practice that we encourage within HG as a way of sharing best-practice and expertise.

If you would like to have an initial conversation about working together in this way, or would like to book in for a supervision session, then please do contact me on [email protected].
